Are schools creating an environment with conditions affirming the identities and cultures for BIPOC students? How can they identify, pursue and take advantage of the histories, cultures and assets of those who contribute to the student body? Within this interactive session, participants will learn how to identify gaps for affinity spaces in their schools, tap the right facilitators to lead in this work and curate affinity groups for BIPOC students to increase their sense of belonging.
Participants will explore the concept of psychological safety and its impact on student engagement, motivation, and academic success. Through engaging discussion, educators will learn research-based strategies to enhance psychological safety in a classrom, including building connection, encouraging open communication, and creating a culture of respect. Join me to discover how to cultivate a safe and supportive learning environment where all students can thrive!
