About me

Derick graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2017. After that, he spent a year teaching English in Beijing, China before returning to the United States to spend several years as a middle school teacher in Austin, Texas. After moving back to his native Chicago, IL, he joined Erika’s Lighthouse in 2023 as the Empowerment Club Coordinator.
